Event Description

This workshop begins with introductory programming in the first two sessions to provide teachers with foundational knowledge in coding using the trinket.io platform, and will encompass transitioning from block to text based coding in Python.

Subsequent workshops incorporate physical computing to reinforce CS concepts. The TI-Innovator™ Hub with the TI-Nspire™ CX graphing calculator are powerful tools for introducing physical computing to students using Python.  Participants will write code to program and build working solutions that actuate a red-green-blue LED, a single red LED, a brightness sensor and a built-in speaker.  Ease into the world of coding with TI-Technology through a series of differentiated, collaborative tasks.  We may even have a surprise visit from the TI-Innovator™ Rover as we explore introductory robotics!

Each session will consist of 2 hours of synchronous activity (dates listed below) and 1 hour of asynchronous work. Pre-work will be sent to registrants approximately two-weeks prior to the first training date.

Certificates of Participation - Certificates stating 21 hours of Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. • Registration fee include training materials (trinket.io account, one TI Nspire CX II Handheld, two TI Innovator Hub, one TI Innovator, and two TI Nspire CX Premium Teacher Software Perpetual Licenses.)
• Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not in attendance. 
• Event limited to 40 participants.
