Event Description

Katy Theranger, recruiting manager for Unchained Capital, Inc., will discuss the importance of cover letters, resumes, and soft skills when applying for jobs in the cybersecurity workforce.  Ms. Theranger will also discuss the different interview formats included in technical interviews.  Technical interviews assess a candidate’s technical ability for the role, their depth and breadth of knowledge as well as assessing their problem-solving skills, their communication skills, and their ability to think under pressure. 

What is Bitcoin?  An introduction to Bitcoin – what exactly is Bitcoin, how does it work – will be provided by one of Unchained Capital’s client services consultants.  Unchained Capital, Inc. is a Bitcoin Native Financial Services company.

Katy Theranger has been a recruiter for more than 15 years for a number of companies in cybersecurity and technology, both in the commercial and federal space. She recruited IT professionals in cybersecurity for U.S. Custom and Border Protection (CBP), the Department of Transportation and the Department of the Interior in the Washington, DC metro area. She also recruited software developers, project and product managers, QA engineers, and analysts for companies such as Bloomberg, Politico, and NPR. Katy has years of experience networking in various areas of tech with professional organizations, arranging and planning strategy for technical interviews, and helping candidates with resume and cover letter writing and proofreading.  She is currently the Recruiting Manager at Unchained Capital in Austin, Texas.
