Event Description

Code.org has developed a curriculum that allows even the youngest students to explore the limitless world of computing - at no cost for schools. The courses blend online, self-guided and self-paced tutorials with “unplugged” activities that require no computer at all. Each course consists of about 20 lessons that may be implemented as one unit or over the course of a semester. Even kindergarten-aged pre-readers can participate. The workshops will prepare you to teach the Code Studio courses for grades Pre-K-5.

Workshop attendees will receive a bag of Code.org swag, PD certificate and printed curriculum guide containing course lesson plans. You will also receive a certificate of completion from Code.org.

Logistics

Please remember your computer and power cord. If you need Texas CEU Credits or GT Update hours, please go to the ESC20 Connect20 registration system and sign up for course #57648.
