Cybersecurity Fundamentals

Cybersecurity Fundamentals is a HS level course designed for students interested in cybersecurity in higher-ed level or the workplace. The EPIC Cyber Range allows schools to let students explore cybersecurity in a hands-on, first-person setting.

Middle School High School Novice Intermediate Cybersecurity

WeTeach_CS has partnered with Cyber.org to offer a workshop introducing the participants to the fundamentals of Cybersecurity. Participants will gain access to the free Cybersecurity curricula by Cyber.org and be given temporary access to the EPIC Cyber Range so they may practice the hands-on components of Cybersecurity attacks. During the workshop, teachers will have the opportunity to practice cyber defense skills in an AFA CyberPatriot environment as well as their cyber offense skills in a Capture the Flag practice gymnasium!

Teachers new to Cybersecurity will be led through Cybersecurity concepts and lessons that are rigorous, relevant, and aligned with the TEKS for the Foundations of Cybersecurity course. There will also be a session on Networking skills including an introduction to Cisco’s Packet Tracer.

This workshop is appropriate for high school educators that will be teaching Foundations of Cybersecurity and/or those interested in learning more about cybersecurity standards and the course.

"It gave me a great idea of the content that is most important for me to cover with my Foundations of Cybersecurity students, affirmed me in what I was able to accomplish last year, and has given me more confidence in what I want to accomplish this upcoming year."
