Event Description
Bootstrap teaches students to program their own video games in an algebraic programming language, exposing them to key math concepts. Middle- and high-school teachers around the country have implemented the curriculum as a one-month module, a weekly activity or an after school program. In Bootstrap, Your Students will Practice and Apply:

Participate in a real classroom demonstration of the curriculum

Eligible Attendees – Texas teachers of mathematics in grades 6- 8, Algebra I teachers, and both middle and high school technology applications/computer science teachers are eligible to attend.
Cost – $600.00
Certificates of Participation - Certificates stating 21 hours of Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations or those not in attendance.

PARTICIPANTS MUST CREATE A UTEID AND PASSWORD IN ORDER TO REGISTER FOR ANY EVENT.
When you are ready to register, it will ask you to login. You will need to login with your UTEID and password. If you do not remember your UTEID and password you can click on “I forgot my UTEID or password” link or if you need a UTEID created, click on “I need a UTEID” from the login screen (under the orange dot in the center of the page). Payment Information and Instructions
The only two accepted methods of payments are credit card and check. We do NOT use/accept purchase orders.
Paying with a credit card will instantly secure your single registration and/or will grant you immediate access to any purchased seats/codes.
Paying with a check will reserve a spot and/or multiple seats/codes, but these will only become confirmed/active after payment is received and processed by our office. This process may take up to three weeks to occur. You will be notified by email when your payment is received and processed.
An invoice is automatically generated and emailed to you by the system once you have selected “Pay with Check” or “Pay with Credit Card.” A PDF of your invoice is also available on your dashboard. The registration confirmation email will contain all of the necessary information you need to provide to your business offices regarding credit card payment records and check processing instructions.
Checks must be made out to “The University of Texas at Austin” and mailed to the attention of Nathalie Beausoleil, along with the printed invoice, to the address below.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging arrangements and payments.
For your convenience, a copy of the Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax Exempt form is provided and should be printed and turned in to your hotel upon arrival.

Getting There
Enter the Pickle Research Campus from 10100 Burnet Road onto Read Granberry Trail.
Go straight on Read Granberry Trail; if a guard stops you at the booth, let him know you are attending a workshop at TACC and that Nathalie Beausoleil will provide you with a 3-day parking permit upon arrival.
Then turn right on Exploration Way until you see the Advanced Computing Building on your right.
Parking
You can park in the street, under covered parking or at the back of the building.
Enter ACB and come sign in - the workshop will take place in 1.104, the big room with windows next to the entry hall.
