Launch_K5 CS

Launch_K5 CS is a program that empowers K-5 educators with the tools and training to seamlessly integrate the Technology Applications TEKS (standards) into their teaching practices, preparing students for success in the digital age.

Launch_K5 CS is a dynamic 3-day workshop meticulously designed for K-5 educators, crafted to align seamlessly with the new K-5 Technology Applications TEKS set to be implemented in the 2024-2025 school year. Dive into an immersive experience that integrates computational thinking, computer science, cybersecurity, and AI into core curricula, offering educators a unique opportunity to enhance their teaching approaches.

Options for Participation:

1. Become a Trainer: Join our Professional Development Academy for a 3-day, in-person training session. Choose from the following dates:

    1. April 2 - April 4, 2024: Austin In-person Training
    2. May 8 - May 10, 2024: San Antonio In-Person Training
    3. May 22 - May 24, 2024: Euless (DFW) In-person Training

As a trainer, you'll receive all necessary resources and materials to conduct training for K-5 educators and earn a compensation of $3,000 (paid to individual or entity) by successfully training a minimum of 30 educators by the end of February 2025.

2. Attend a 3-Day Training: If becoming a trainer isn't your path, you can still benefit by attending a 3-day training session. This opportunity is available at no cost, and you'll receive either a K-2 or 3-5 physical computing package, along with other resources to use in the classroom. To participate, you must work at a Texas school that serves K-5 students. Contact Judy Lau at judy@tacc.utexas.edu to find out if there is a training in your region!
