Event Description

The WeTeach_CS Summit is a 2-day event which educates, empowers, and inspires K-12 CS teachers, advocates, administrators, professional development providers, university instructors, and policy-makers to advance the goal of CS for All in Texas and beyond. This year’s Summit will be held on the shores of the San Gabriel River at the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel and Conference Center in Georgetown, TX, just outside of Austin (Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center). Approximately 300 CS champions will be in attendance.

COVID-19 Protocols

The WeTeach_CS Summit will be following all COVID protocols put in place by the Georgetown Sheraton. Current protocols do not require proof of vaccination or mask wearing but all Sheraton staff will be masked. Attendees are encouraged to wear masks in crowded areas. If these protocols change due to changing pandemic conditions, all registrants will be notified by email.

WTCS CHANGE MAKER AWARDS ($750)
The WeTeach_CS (WTCS) Change Makers are teachers, counselors, or administrators who are making an impact in Computer Science education in their community. Nominate your peers to acknowledge their great work!

WTCS MINI-GRANTS ($1000)
The Mini-Grant Awardees are teachers with fantastic ideas to improve teaching and learning in the classroom. The grants support instructional resources and materials for K-12 Computer Science. Projects include those conducted during after-school activities, summer camps, or in-school programs.

Certificates of Participation

Certificates stating 14 hours of Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE credits) earned will be sent electronically after the participant has completed the online course evaluation. Any questions about certificates should be directed toward the contact person listed on this page.

PARTICIPANTS MUST CREATE A UTEID AND PASSWORD IN ORDER TO REGISTER FOR ANY EVENT.

When you are ready to register, it will ask you to login. You will need to login with your UTEID and password. If you do not remember your UTEID and password you can click on “I forgot my UTEID or password” link. If you need a UTEID created, click on “I need a UTEID” from the login screen (under the orange dot in the center of the page).  For more UTEID information Click here.

Payment Information and Instructions

The only two accepted methods of payments are credit card and check

Paying with a credit card will instantly secure your single registration and/or will grant you immediate access to any purchased seats/codes.

Paying with a check will reserve a spot and/or multiple seats/codes, but these will only become confirmed/active after payment is received and processed by our office. This process may take up to three weeks to occur. You will be notified by email when your payment is received and processed.

An invoice is automatically generated and emailed to you by the system once you have selected “Pay with Check” or “Pay with Credit Card.” A PDF of your invoice is also available on your dashboard. The registration confirmation email will contain all of the necessary information you need to provide to your business offices regarding credit card payment records and check processing instructions.

Checks must be made out to “The University of Texas at Austin” and mailed to the attention of Nathalie Beausoleil, along with the printed invoice, to the address below.

Accommodations and Transportation

All participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging arrangements and payments. If your institution is paying for your lodging, a copy of the Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax Exempt form is provided and should be printed and turned in to your hotel upon arrival.
